Part 1: Nurturing the Social-Emotional Development of Children (Ages 0–5)
Description:
Young children build the foundations of self-regulation, empathy, and relationship skills during their earliest years. This session explores how educators and caregivers can intentionally support children’s social-emotional growth through responsive interactions, inclusive environments, and developmentally appropriate strategies. Participants will gain tools to promote positive peer relationships, address common challenges, and foster resilience.
Objectives: Participants will be able to:
1) Identify key milestones and typical patterns in social-emotional development for children ages 0–5.
2) Apply responsive strategies that nurture self-regulation, empathy, and positive social interactions.
3) Use everyday routines and play as opportunities to strengthen children’s social-emotional skills
