Before children can learn phonics, they need a strong foundation in phonological awareness—the ability to recognize and work with the sounds of spoken language. This workshop offers an engaging overview of phonological awareness, complete with cue cards and hands-on strategies to support learners at all levels.
Learning Objectives:
1) Participants will be able to apply evidence-based, hands-on strategies and activities to strengthen phonological awareness in young children.
2) Participants will be able to use interactive tools to make sound awareness instruction engaging and accessible for all learners.
3) Participants will be able to plan daily routines or small-group activities that embed phonological awareness practice in playful, meaningful ways.
