Trainer: Nola Brantley

Workshop Description: This training equips child care providers with practical, developmentally appropriate strategies to promote safety, healthy boundaries, and empowerment among children ages 0–12. Participants will explore how to help children understand personal boundaries, recognize safe and unsafe behaviors, communicate when something doesn’t feel right, and develop the confidence to seek help from trusted adults. The training will also address technology and online safety, age-appropriate conversations about body autonomy, and the role child care providers play in creating environments where children feel safe, heard, and supported.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

1) Identify developmentally appropriate strategies for teaching children ages 0–12 about body autonomy, personal boundaries, consent, and healthy relationships.
2) Recognize potential safety concerns, including boundary violations, grooming behaviors, and technology-related risks, and identify appropriate ways to respond and support children.
3) Apply practical prevention and empowerment strategies that create safe environments where children feel comfortable communicating concerns and seeking help from trusted adults.
