April 7 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Share

This professional development training is designed exclusively for childcare providers. We will explore positive child guidance as an effective, research-based approach for addressing challenging behaviors in early childhood settings. Participants will move beyond traditional, punitive discipline by examining the function of behavior and applying developmentally appropriate, non-punitive strategies. This is a hands-on session where you will learn and immediately practice techniques for successful implementation in your classroom environment.

Workshop Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, childcare providers will be able to:
1) List and articulate the 3 R’s of Infant Toddler Care & Education (or a similar foundational framework) and explain their direct connection to positive classroom guidance.
2) Demonstrate at least three practical, non-punitive alternatives to address common challenging behaviors encountered in the classroom setting.
3) Apply at least three Affective Guidance skills (such as emotion coaching or validation techniques) to support children in developing strong emotional regulation and coping abilities within the classroom.
