SUMMARY:Introduction to the Intersection of Trauma and Disabilities
DESCRIPTION:This course will explore the impact of trauma and disabilities on learning\, behavior and physical health in early childhood educational environments. The presentation will illustrate the differences and similarities between the experiences of typically developing children versus those with disabilities. We will discuss a range of trauma-responsive and resilience building relational and environmental strategies for professionals working in a variety of program options that serve children with disabilities. \nLearning Objectives:\n– Participants will discuss at least 3 specific impacts of trauma on children with disabilities\n– Participants will identify at least 3 practices for building safety and resilience in children with disabilities\n– Participants will utilize 2 -3 concepts related to trauma and disabilities when interacting with families \nREGISTER HERE
