Workshop Description:<\/strong> This professional development workshop moves beyond behavioral management to emphasize the importance of the relational foundation of early childhood education. We will explore how the “3 R”s of Infant\/Toddler Care and Education” (Respectful, Responsive, Reciprocal) and “Serve and Return” interactions serve as the primary drivers of healthy development and emotional intelligence. By grounding our practice in high-quality child development principles, we can help children reach their optimum growth and learning potential. Through literary exploration, childcare providers will discover new ways to validate complex emotions, foster resilience, and maintain a secure, responsive presence for children. Childcare providers will leave the workshop equipped to nurture powerful, positive adult-child relationships.<\/p>\n

Leaning Objectives: <\/strong>
\n1) The 3 R’s Framework: Participants will be able to explain the 3 R’s of Infant\/Toddler Care (Respectful, Responsive, Reciprocal) and articulate their role in building a secure emotional foundation for children.<\/p>\n

2) Applying Serve and Return: Participants will be able to identify key “Serve and Return” interactions in the classroom and demonstrate strategies to initiate and respond to these essential developmental interactions.<\/p>\n

3) Nurturing Emotional Support: Participants will be able to utilize children’s literature as a tool to model and practice validating complex emotions, thereby fostering positive, supportive adult-child interactions<\/p>\n
