Circle Time: Music, Movement, and Fingerplays

December 7, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

As society continues to move towards introducing the use of computers, screen time, and technology to our youngest learners, early care educators must revisit the importance of circle time in early learning environments. Circle time encourages social interaction and supports kinesthetic learning.  As early care educators we noticed the loss of these skills during the pandemic when even our young learners were forced to be on screen and deprived of in person interaction.

Family Home and Center Based providers are invited to join Sarika Rathi, Family Home Child Care Owner, Entrepreneur, and Educator, to learn about the different elements that make up an effective circle time. Sarika’s presentation will include:

·         How to design circle time

·         The benefits of circle time for young learners

·         How long should circle time last

·         Determining the targeted age group for circle time

Participants will also learn songs, movement, and fingerplays that can be incorporated into their circle time experience.
