Workshops & Training
At Hively, we believe that every child deserves parents and caregivers who are confident and competent. We offer a wide array of workshops and training to ensure that those responsible for caring for our next generation have the knowledge and skills they need.
Workshops for Parents & Families
Hively offers regular workshops, classes, and training to help parents and caregivers improve their parenting skills, increase their competence and positive parenting practices, address challenging situations, learn new coping strategies, and strengthen the bonds between them and their children.
Workshops for Child Care Providers
Hively offers regular workshops, classes, and training to help child care providers develop their skills as small business owners, child development experts, and compassionate caregivers.
Workshops for Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) Child Care Providers
Hively supports caregivers of all kinds, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors who care for young children. Hively offers regular workshops, classes, trainings, and field trips to help informal child care providers network with other FFN providers, and develop their skills in child development, early intervention, health and safety, pre-literacy, self-care, and strengthening relationships with parents.
Coaching for Child Care Providers
Hively provides free coaching, training and support for those starting their own family child care businesses and for those who already work in the child care field. Child care providers receive individualized, one-on-one support to build a strong, successful business and increase the quality of their child care program.
Trauma-Informed Care Workshop Series
Hively is currently offering a year-long series on trauma-informed practices in early care and education settings. Participants gain an understanding on the impact of trauma on children and what they can do to promote healing.
Interactive STEM Workshops
Hively offers early childhood educators the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops focused on a variety of STEM related topics. Teachers will walk away with new strategies for developing curriculum and skills in the critical fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.
Health & Safety Training
Hively offers quarterly CPR, First Aid and Preventative Health classes on Saturdays. Keeping children of all ages safe and healthy is one of the most important tasks of child care providers. Whether children are in center- or home-based care, providers are responsible for ensuring safety both inside and outside their child care setting.
