From Our CEO, Kelly O’Lague
“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.”
– Coretta Scott King
Now, more than ever, our family and friends, co-workers and neighbors, even strangers we might never meet, will benefit from our compassionate actions.
We are experiencing an unprecedented challenge in our nation and in our world. As we struggle to respond to a pandemic, the impact of which we are only beginning to understand, we must make difficult decisions.
In response to the latest information about Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we will be making some temporary changes at Hively.
Here are some of the changes you will experience:
- Hively will be open to our clients by appointment only for the next two weeks. We will be closed to the general public. We will closely monitor the situation and will re-evaluate on April 8th.
- Our Hively team will be working hard to ensure that our families receive the support they need during this critical time. Clients can continue to reach out to their family support specialists via email. If you aren’t sure who to contact, please email us at hello@behively.org. We will be checking email on a regular basis and will get back to you within 24 hours.
- If you experience a disruption in your child care, which we know many will, you can reach out to our resource and referral specialists and they will work with you to find care.
- All trainings and workshops between now and April 8th are cancelled. We will work to reschedule them in the coming months.
- We do not anticipate any disruptions in payments to child care providers. As always, should you have any questions, please direct them to hello@behively.org.
- The Hively Community Closet will be closed through April 8th. We will not be open for shopping, nor will we be able to accept donations during this time. We will be sure to get the word out when we re-open.
- Access to the Hively Diaper Pantry will be restricted through April 8th. Diapers can be requested by emailing hello@behively.org. We will do our best to accommodate all requests.

Be Generous ~ Be Hively
Many families in our Hively community will face significant financial hardship as a result of disruptions in their employment. We can help by providing food, diapers and other essentials. Please consider making a donation to our Hively Emergency Fund. No gift is too small.
