From birth, babies communicate their needs through a variety of sounds, gestures, and movement. Baby’s smiles, wiggles, and giggles are enchanting opportunities to communicate with baby. Outburst of crying also communicate baby’s needs. Typically these sudden outbursts of crying eventually decrease as Child Care Providers employ responsive caregiving practices. What do you do when a baby cries inconsolably? How do you keep calm when nothing you do comforts baby?
