How you feel about the children in your care, and their family members, informs what you think about them. What you think about them guides your communication and interactions with them. Typical childhood behaviors, and routine interactions, can be seen as challenging when adult temperaments, biases, or hot buttons, flare up. What challenges us can be rooted in our own beliefs and biases.
Join Hively staff to review temperament, hot buttons, and bias through the lens of child care providers. Participants will be guided to consider what role, if any, their own biases, or preferences, play in their perception of challenging behavior and interactions.
Participants will learn and practice strategies to help them reframe old beliefs and biases.
