Class Description:

Participants will learn the California Child Care: Pediatric First Aid & CPR (Adult, Child & Infant) from American Red Cross Training Services according to California State Licensing. This incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize helping children in an emergency, CPR and use of an AED when needed. Identify when and how Hands-Only CPR (compression-only) can be given. Students will recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to victims of any age- adults and pediatric. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years, wallet cards, CPR Pocket Mask, and E-Book link sent once registered. All students must have an email to get Certification.
Objectives:
The Purpose of the courses in Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED program is to help Child Care Providers recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies to know immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.

- You must be present for the full 8 hour training course and pass the activities to the trainer’s specifications to receive your certification.
- Please plan to arrive at the location 5-10 minutes prior to the start time. We will begin promptly at 7:30 am.
- Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate and will forfeit their deposit.
- We will offer light refreshments such as pastries, pinwheels, fruits, coffee and water, however please be sure to bring a packed lunch (per your dietary restrictions). There will be no break to leave the premises to get lunch.
- It is best to wear comfortable clothes/footwear to the Saturday class as we will be on the floor for a good portion of the training.
- If you have any physical limitations that restrict your ability to get down/get up from the floor, please notify us so that we can modify the activity for you.
- This course will be conducted in English, translation is not available at this time.
- No shows will forfeit their $50.00 deposit.
Registration will end when capacity is reached (10 participants) or on Friday May 3rd, 2024, or whichever comes first.
